Friday Night Jammin'

Cebu City nightlife is shaking things up with chic events, new places and hot parties to keep the good times rolling through the rainy season until the much-anticipated ASEAN summit. And yes, Christmas, which actually starts when the "ber" months come in... and of course, the Sinulog festival in January. All these keep Metro Cebu alive and vibrant but making it harder to find a Friday night chill-out place as techno babies dominate most of the newer bars.

Luckily, in our favorite OUTPOST, you'll seldom find the frenetic techno crowd. In this wee funhouse of a restobar, jazz, bossanova, samba, reggae, 70's, 80's and 90's music dominate the scene. A funky place where indie and chichi crowd mix. Now who would ever thought of that? Outpost is a cool place when you’re in the mood to feel like you’re in-the-know.

The members of our favorite band (they're not even a band! they just jam every weekend!) are not your regular artists. The lead guitarist/singer, Graeme is a prosecutor. To his right, Jonks, the owner of Outpost is an architect/professor/adventure sports enthusiast. Really funny lot but great mix of personalities and talent.

The Outpost is located in Nivel Hills, Lahug, Cebu City.

Hi Jane! Looks like a great place to hang out and listen to quality listen...and isn't it nice that you don't have to scream to talk to someone? I just don't get the chaotic "noise" some of these kids subject their ears to! LOL! ;-)

OMG... I miss the guys in Outpost. You should tell the guys to create their own website (like Kahayag) so I can still wreak my havoc even if I'm already miles away. LOL.
